School of Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies 2015-2016

The School of Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies (SANDS) is the USAF's premier program for strategic deterrence education, offering a 10-month graduate-level program within Air Command and Staff College at Air University. Founded by Air Force Global Strike Command in 2015, SANDS develops field-grade officers into future nuclear deterrence leaders and experts by immersing them in deterrence theory, nuclear operations, and international strategic issues, including visiting nuclear labs and allied nations.
