Advanced Training Unit 202 (ATU-202) Established as Advanced Training Unit TWO ZERO TWO (ATU-202) "Fighting Redhawks" in Apr 1951; Redesignated Training Squadron TWENTY ONE (VT-21) on 21 May 1960-. Grumman F9F-2/-5 Panther Grumman TF9F-6 Cougar VF-ATU-202 insignia c. 1955. The squadron flew the Grumman F9F-2/-5 Panther, so this insignia was replaced by the eagle insignia when the squadron transitioned to the F9F to the TF9F-6 Cougar
