Strategic Air Command Bomb-Nav Competition 1978

Twenty-second Annual Bombing and Navigation Competition/GIANT VOICE was the first one where overseas-based units could participate. Participation by 18 CONUS-based B-52 and FB-111 wings with one aircraft and crew per wing; one crew from the 43rd Strategic Wing at Anderson AFB, Guam; and one RAF Vulcan crew also participated. A total of 25 CONUS-based KC-135 units and one tanker squadron from Kadena AB, Okinawa participated. A pair of TAC’s F-111s participated along with eight Air National Guard and two USAFR KC-135s.
