18th Aircraft Maintenance Unit Exercise DIAMOND SHIELD 2022

Exercise Diamond Shield 2022, part the Diamond Series includes Sea, Shield and Storm, which are conducted as part of the third biennial RAAF’s Air Warfare Instructor Course (AWIC) which are exercises designed to promote RAAF’s interoperability with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Army, along with other international partners.
Exercise Diamond Shield, held in Apr 2022 established a high-end warfighting scenario which challenges AWIC candidates to maintain control of the air whilst integrating with multiple Air Force platforms and ground elements.

The 18th Aggressor Squadron flew out of Amberley AB, provided a realistic scenarios for the candidates to solve and created a training environment for Air Force that focused participants on overcoming the challenge of defending an extensive range of air space.
