Air National Guard Exercise SENTRY BOOMER 1988-1
The primary objective was to train aircrews in the mission of High Value Airborne Asset (HVAA) Protection for aircraft like the KC-135, KC-10, E-3 AWACS, etc. The first SENTRY BOOMER, 88-1, was held 11-15 July 1988, out of General Mitchell ANGB, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Participants included KC-135 tankers from the 126 ARW (IL ANG) and 128 ARG (WI ANG), 1 TFW F-15C Eagles as the HVAA protectors, and Red Air in the form of 148 FIG (MN ANG) F-4D Phantom II.  The last SENTRY BOOMER, 90-2, occurred in June 1990.
