26th Aggressor Squadron Eagle Shooter
In 1988 the F-5Es from the 26th Aggressor Squadron at Clark AB were grounded due to cracks in the longerons. The original plan was to replace the jets with F-16s and move the squadron to Kadena. The F-16s would not arrive for 18 months however, so to prevent the squadron from getting deactivated they came up with the “ride sharing program" which took place at Kadena AB and involved four F-5E Aggressor pilots who re-qualified to the F-15. They borrowed F-15s from all three Kadena squadrons. Unfortunately, they pulled the plug after a year. For 26 AS pilots that got a simulated "kill" flying vs. the F-15. Korean made.
