Fighter Squadron 1285 (VF-1285)

VF-1285 "Fighting Fubijars"
CNO direction was issued to establish VF-1285 as a SAU for support of West Coast Fleet F-14 fighter squadrons whose mission was to provide ground, simulator and flight training for Reserve aircrews and maintenance training to Reserve enlisted personnel in order to provide combat-ready personnel to augment fleet squadrons during mobilization. VF-1285 flew VF-301 & VF-302 assets. Disestablished Sep 1994.
