Constituted 760 Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) on 19 May 1943. Activated on 1 Jul 1943. Redesignated 760 Bombardment Squadron (Very Heavy) on 14 Nov 1945. Inactivated on 26 Sep 1945.

Insignia for the 4 squadrons in the group all used the group insignia, noted with the tab, #1 signifying the 760th BS.
