US Military Patches

55th Wing RC-135 No Guts No Glory
The significance of the "4" is said to derive from an article in a major East Coast daily that listed aircraft participating in one of the US's major military engagements in the early 1990s and the RC-135s were listed fourth in the article. The designs in the background are reportedly from the scarves of the 38th, 343d, and 6949th, but this could not be confirmed (another source says 38th, 922d, and 6916th). All agree the blue and white stripes are from the Greek flag, alluding to Iraklion AB. -GWO
