3389th Pilot Training Squadron Military Assistance Program
On 15 January 1967, the 3389th Pilot Training Squadron was activated and equipped with T-28 Trojans. Its mission was to teach Military Assistance Program (MAP) students how to fly. The squadron hosted personnel from many countries, including Iran, Mexico, and Peru, but especially from South Vietnam. Of the 908 pilots who graduated before the squadron inactivated in 1973, 743 were from there. US made.
