US Military Patches

2d Airborne Command and Control Squadron Desert Express
Between August 1990 and March 1991, the 2 ACCS flew "Desert Express" sorties to a deployed location during Operations Desert Shield/Storm, relieving Offutt's RC-135 crews of the long flights (as flight crew) and thus preventing them from exceeding their maximum monthly flight hours (a round trip to Saudi Arabia equated to approximately 32 hours of flying time). This patch was created during that time for Shield/Storm and follow-on taskings in the Southwest Asia theater of operations. "Takin' it 'EC'" (a play on "takin' it easy") was the unofficial motto of deploying EC-135 aircrews.
