2d Airborne Command and Control Squadron Intelligence

2 ACCS/DOCI functional patch created ca. 1968. During the SAC years, the battlestaff's intelligence team was comprised of two planners, and sometimes one was a target intelligence planner--a more specialized field of intelligence. This group did not care for being labeled "just an intelligence jockey," so they created this patch, probably the first battlestaff patch aboard the Looking Glass, and wore it on the shoulder until about 1987. (This patch is sometimes referred to as the "spook patch.")
